My Weekly Poem

1. Summarise the poem you have read in your own words.
  • The poem I read this week is about....Words, and actions can allow you to touch another person’s Life. Love Others and make their day better than Yesterday.

2. Identify at least 2 different language features in the poem and give examples. You can identify more than 2 language features.

  • One of the language features in this poem is a _ Similes____. Here is an example of this language feature... You can touch someone’s life,
Just by what you say or do,
  • Another language feature in this poem is a __ Personification___ .Here is an example of this language feature... Then you will be blessed in so many ways,
From our Lord and Savior above.

3. Evaluate (which means reflect and give your opinion) the author’s purpose for writing this poem - in your answers include the words: inform, entertain, persuade.
Love is not hard to get because everyone has love. Words affect people Emotions, and actions affect others Lives. So Love others and make Today Fun.

  • By analysing the poem I have read this week I think the author wrote this poem because, He wanted People to know how strong Love, Words, and Emotions are.
  • The author was informing the audience about...Love,Emotion,Actions
  • The author was entertaining the audience by... (emotions/language features): Using strong words and telling the truth about how Love finds you.
  • The author is trying to persuade the audience to think/believe/reflect... I think the Author is trying tell us to not hate but Love. I think he believes that there is always a good Person in Us

You can touch someone’s life,
Just by what you say or do,
It’s nice to be able to do that,
And I’m going to do it too.
It might be by an act of kindness,
Or just by something we say,
It really doesn’t matter what it is,
Because it will sure make their day,
So try to touch someone’s life,
And show them your love,
Then you will be blessed in so many ways,
From our Lord and Savior above.
